Today’s Guardian contains an article by the Mayor of London accusing successive Israeli governments of ‘ethnic cleansing, discrimination and terror’ and Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, of ‘war crimes’.
In its concluding sentence, the Mayor explains why he felt constrained to write the article, not in a personal capacity, but in his official capacity as Mayor. He writes:
‘For a mayor of London not to speak out against such injustice would not only be wrong – but would also ignore the threat it poses to the security of all Londoners.’
How stupid it was of me to think it is Islamist terrorists who pose the only real current threat to the security of Londoners!
The Mayor’s surmise is on a par with the claim that the destruction of New York’s Trade Towers was the work of Mossad rather than Al Qaeda. So, doubtless that claim is one we can, perhaps, soon look forward to hearing from our Mayor.
Clearly, someone of such profound insight into international politics is suited to a far more grandiose presidential office than that of simply metropolitan mayor, one that would allow him to play a part on the world-stage on which so many of our senior politicians seem to be so keen on choosing to strut these days.
How fortuitous, therefore, as opposed to being a piece of the most cynical and manipulative news management, that the day on which the Guardian should have chosen to publish the Mayor’s article, plus devote its front page lead news story to what it contains, should also have been the day on which students of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies were called on to vote whether the Mayor should be made Honorary President of their Union -- for which, needless to say, they did vote.
For those who don’t know much about that Students’ Union, it may be enough to learn, as a lecturer in Israel Studies at Oxford University has recently pointed out that it ‘recently hosted Palestinian Hanan Ashrawi, PLO ambassador to London Atif Safieh, and a two-day extravaganza dedicated to boycotting Israel. ….. [and that the] official Student Union policy … states that “Peace requires … the elimination of … Zionism…”.
It is curious the Guardian omitted to mention today’s students’ union election in its news story about the Mayor’s article – or not!
By the way, I forgot to mention that the post of Honorary President of the Students’ Union was something only thought up a few days ago, with the election to fill it being very much a last minute affair.
Some cynics maintain the Honorary Presidency was only thought up by the Students’ Union because the Mayor was due to speak at SOAS shortly and conferring this honorific title on him would be sure to raise his profile at the occasion, as well as that of the Students’ Union at the occasion – and, doubtless, the political temperature of the event too!
Well, Londoners certainly got the Mayor they deserved by having voted for the present occupant of that office.
One can only hope that, now he has been voted Honorary President of the Students’ Union of SOAS,the Mayor will be tempted to decide to give them his full-time attention. It would seem that he and they are a match made in heaven -- where, doubtless, he will find awaiting him ... !

What we know as Multi-Racialism is the modern version of the Marxist classless Utopia and like all ideologies needs a scapegoat group to react against and to define themselves against. That scapegoat group has always been us even though we fought Nazism.
Now, however, they are developing an anti-semitic thrust as we saw with Labour's pigs' heads insult to Howard and Letwin, their alliance with Muslims for the election, their importing of Muslim fanatics from countries which openly serialise "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion and now this.
The danger to Jews in this country is from the alliance between multi-racialists and Muslim fanatics.
