Anti Racist -just how you can say that Joseph's comments are racist is beyond me. As far as I'm concerned, his comments have hit the nail on the head. Its all about fair representation. Black Afro-Caribbean Britons have, in recent times, become very much over-represented on the BBC's programmes. By contrast British Black Africans are grossly under-represented, even though they now outnumber British Black Afro-Caribbeans. (There are estimated to be around only 1.2 million Black people living in the UK, as opposed to 60 million people in total).

British Asians however (of Indian, Pakistani & Bangladeshi origin) are more fairly represented in relation to indigenous Britons, considering their number is actually way above those of African and West Indian heritage. Still I feel even they are slightly over-represented. On the other hand, Muslims (disregarding extremists) are more often than not embraced by the BBC, whilst Jews and Christians are positively vilified. A good example to demonstrate this phenomenon would be the BBC's recent drama Robin Hood:

During the series, a small number Black people were featured (in total disregard to historical accuracy, and purely for political purposes). Turkish Muslims were also featured (more accurately) although their faith was deeply respected, while Friar Tuck (representing Christianity) was conveniently airbrushed out altogether! The excuse was so as not to be prejudiced against overweight people (when are they ever represented anyway, and moreover in a good light?) The only man who did show some sign of Christian faith was Much, the well spoken, middle-class English buffoon, servant to Robin's gruff working class hero.

Meanwhile, an evil Dr. Mengele-like associate of the Sheriff, appeared to be distincly Jewish, he was even called Joseph. He also quoted some apocalyptical scripture from the Old Testament, the only man (we're talking Medieval Britain remember) to do so in the whole series! Needless to say I was incensed with the anti-Semitic undertones, especially in contrast to the way Muslims were portrayed. The BBC's anti-Israeli bias is no secret (although they did try to cover that fact up recently).

Typically in many instances, in today's dramas, only white males (of all ages) seem to be be cast as the villans; weak, cowardly, racist, ineffectual etc. By contrast, females, those of a homosexual orientation, and people from ethnic minorities are much less often portrayed in a bad light.

This political over-corectness makes me (and many other ethnic Britons) very angry, so much so that some are even voting for the BNP in protest. Thankfully however, most of us mutter under our breath and do nothing (in our characteristically understated British way). The BNP are too close to Hitler, the War and the Nazis for our liking. Remember, our father's blood was shed to spare the free world from such tyranny! (not forgetting the magnificent efforts of the many Colonnial troops)

One final note, of all the great empires, Britain's was the only one in which slavery was abolished worldwide, something we British can be proud of. The British back then thought themselves culturally superior (which in many ways they were), but not genetically so. They believed that they were on a mission as it were to Christianize the heathen nations. Racism proper only came about when Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection was applied to the different races of man. Racism is more like a scientific theory, not Xenophobia (fear of the foreigner), a common trait applicable to all humans.

I fear that your comments on the uselessness of anti racism and your feelings of antipathy towards black presence in the media expose you as a racist. I believe its not the children who are the problem - its the adults, and particularly ones like yourself. Your examples of what you describe as black conciousness are political movements reactionary to racism, which were more popular in American society in a time where radicalism was needed to overcome racial barriers. Large scale black segregation existed in the American South not too long ago. It still exists in small pockets. Racism breeds racism, suspicion and potentially violence. Also, you don't know enough about black culture to comment - there's lots of Hip Hop, Reggae and performance Art and dance that promote social harmony. Yet they don't get the same exposure as the undesirable types, which many black groups can't stand. The money is given to those who can still keep the stereotype alive. Can you explain why? I bet you can. What you have to understand, Joseph, is that everyone deserves opportunities and its a fundamental lesson as a human being not to look down on others. Have you thought that maybe the BBC is moving with the times, when you obviously haven't. What's wrong with having an interest in cultural 'otherness'? We are all one people - more and more are recognising that. You describe it as a disorder!? The empire used racism as a tool and a very effective one it was too. The trading of slaves was an industry that was as big as I.T. has been, but at the expense of millions of lives. One of its most effect weapons was racist ideology and ideologies get passed down - it would be foolish to believe that racism ended at the time of abolition of slavery. If society were to accept that racism doesn't exist, that its a myth, then exploitation of the economically vulnerable (consisting of large populations of black/brown communities, as well as white) have the potential to decline further into poverty and social unrest. One's like yourself will then advocate that people of different races are too ferile, sub-human and ought either to be deported or culled. Black and white disadvantaged communities may come together and riot - this time in your neighbourghood. Racism still exists in this society - albeit more sophisticated. People like yourself have had to hide because of new laws and you get your racist fix by ranting on these websites. Most racists can't even explain what racism is or really realise (or perhaps they do) the dangerous effects it has, not only for the minority community, but for themselves. Am I to feel sorry for racists because they believe its an infringement on their civil liberties when they can't make racist slurs or judgements which beats against the grain of their core identity as a racist? Racists are very much victims of their own intolerance and ignorance (it will come back to bite you). Your empire has fallen and you're no longer untouchable. But what are you so scared of? If the tide turns you should be scared if most people think like yourself, out for themselves and kind and willing to turn on others who you believe may threaten you. You're probably an advocate of apartheid. We live in a global community - an ecosystem which needs to be nurtured and looked after, not only for others but for our own self worth. I believe you have little. I'm in no doubt if this were 30 years ago you'd probably use other descriptive terms for minority groups. People like yourself jump on poorly thought out slurs of Trevor Phillips because its in line with what you've believed all along - that black and white can't mix - it's xenophobic and validates your inherent racism. But then you go on to rant that A/C's will be extinct anyway because of the close relationships they share with whites! This intermingling and coexistence is an outcome of multiculturalism WORKING. To address another comment; why should black people on television be such a problem for you??? Can you suggest an alternative career for a/c broadcasters, if you can't stand them on tv so much, do they really violently assault your eyes with their blackness that much? I suspect you would suggest they make coffees and teas, or clean the toilets. If no black faces were on television that would be a problem. England is no longer just white and hasn't been for centuries, wake up and accept it. If I were you I wouldn't be too comfortable about your assimilation theory either - more women from white backgrounds are having less babies than their black counterparts. God forbid your children or grandchildren be black or brown. You probably have black and/or brown blood in your ancestry anyway.

Who can I blame then if my child still has no friends? Will I blame his colour, character, the teachers or the system?!
-There's an idea, I could possibly sue the school for not having a certain number of chidren of this colour or that one, or maybe for not having accepted a certain number of "good natured" kids...
Well if they can come up with silly ideas such as this (and even get paid for it) I think I might be on the right track of getting hired!

Anti racism is now the principal fetish of the white liberal middle class. It is also both a stick for ethnic minority demagogues to beat the host community and their passport into a fawning, white establishment.

But when we scratch a little at the multi culturists' preoccupations we discover some curious things. The BBC Television's coverage is particularly interesting in this respect. Have you ever noticed how over-represented African Caribbeans (A/C's) are in its education, health and community news output? This tendency is so marked it reminds one of that bizarre episode in Frances Stonor Saunders' tome 'Who Paid the Piper?' (which chronicles the CIA's post war cultural offensive) where Hollywood moguls were persuaded by the spooks to place happy smiling 'negro' extras in their crowd scenes.

The BBC's black obsession is intriguing. The corporation might argue that its coverage of race is part of a long, indiginous, liberal tradition. This is only partly true. What is more accurate is that BBC producers editors and hacks are ideological fashion victims, addicted to cultural 'otherness'. The main symptom of this psychological disorder is to trash the host culture as 'racist.' If these intellectual flyweights bothered to reflect on their neurosis they might become aware of some unpalatable facts.

Firstly, as stated earlier, the BBC's black obsession owes little to British history and even less to the experience of the victims of British Imperialism. It owes much more to that country it consciously despises but subconsciously mimics - the USA.

Secondly, black awareness in all its historic political manifestations (Panthers, Black Power etc) and contemporary cultural guises (Rap, Hip/Hop) was and remains chauvinistic. Much of this so called consciousness is overtly fascistic.

Thirdly, whilst colour is the most visible racial marker, it is becoming increasingly a highly subjective and superficial one. A/C's are English speaking and Christian. They do not have a clan culture and though predominantly poor tend to live cheek by jowl with the host community.

Fourthly, the main problem for the A/C community is sluggish upward mobility. But this is a phenomenon principally rooted in family and class rather than colour and race. A/C's do not have a monopoly on the lumpen proletarian experience. The same malady with the same consequences (single parenthood, drug addiction and crime) affects huge swathes of the white working class too. Root cause? Welfarism.

Fifthly, the pure African Caribbean population is heading towards extinction. It is heading towards that multi cultural nemesis called ASSIMILATION. One in ten A/C's marry white. A higher proportion still co-habit with a white partner. It is projected that mixed race children will outnumber those of pure A/C descent within a generation and that by the end of the century the direct descendents of the current A/C population will be completely assimilated (which hapless minority then will be the victims of BBC news gatherers obsessions I wonder?).

Finally, A.A. Gill's 'Tristrams' are dazzled by black A/C's. They are not quite so beguiled by black Africans (too middle class). White Jews are an irrelvance at best (Zionist). As for brown Muslims well, the 'Tristrams' like to bang on a bit about Islamaphobia but not too many vox pops from Hounslow I notice (burka's ain't cool). And there's the rub. Because if we do have a racial/cultural problem this is one of the places where it lies. And it has got worse not better after thirty years of multi culturalism (the BBC seems to have conveniently forgotten that Trvor Phillips, the BLACK AFRICAN CARIBBEAN chairman of the CRE, called time on multi culturalism last year describing it as 'a failed policy').

The BBC's race fetish is irrational and intellectually shallow. I would like to say that it is also largely ineffective. But it isn't. It's worse than that, it's counter productive. BBC One's news, drama and light entertainment is produced largely by the white, southern, middle class largely for a mass, southern audience.

And look how the masses voted in that BBC heartland, Barking & Dagenham, last Thursday. Needless to say the 'Tristrams' will draw some comfort from the fact that most voted BNP for 'non racist' reasons.
