EU Facts: A new web resource from Civitas

March 2016

With the EU referendum debate well under way, Civitas has launched http://www.eu-facts.org.uk/ – a new website to help inform the discussion between now and June 23rd. EU Facts is a web resource designed to provide the average voter with the essentials about the functioning of the EU and Britain’s relationship with it.

More than 70 simple fact sheets give the low-down on the EU’s history, institutions and policies, from the Treaty of Rome to the Treaty of Lisbon, from Common Agricultural Policy to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Building on Civitas’s many years of expertise in providing objective, impartial teaching materials for use in schools, EU Facts is designed to strip away the spin and help ordinary members of the public make an informed, independent decision.

Civitas researchers will continue to develop this bank of resources over the coming months as the debate unfolds – and visitors to the website are encouraged to submit their own questions which our researchers will do their best to investigate. Alongside the fact sheets, there is a blog area for comment and discussion in which we will be encouraging contributions from both sides of the argument – while always maintaining a strict demarcation between fact and opinion.

Please visit the new EU Facts website here.
