“Although there are many outside-of-school programmes, this one seems innovative.”

Locations

The network of twenty Civitas Schools are located in London, and with a number of classes taking place at each site we now provide supplementary English and maths lessons for around 500 children every week. Our classes take place in the heart of communities - in church halls, schools and community centres.

Summer Schools

There is a limit to what can be achieved in weekly two or three hour classes so we also run intensive summer schools of English and maths classes, supplemented with a programme of extra-curricular activities.

In previous years children have enjoyed trips to Greenwich Observatory, the Tower of London, the Museum of Childhood, Hackney City Farm, the Canal Museum, the British Library, Runnymede and Windsor Castle.

Our latest London summer school was a brilliant Magna Carta-themed two weeks in July 2015.

Comments from parents included:

The summer school was excellent. It has enabled my son to catch up and improve certain areas of his education. We have noticed an incredible improvement in his reading. Also, his concentration level has improved.

She improved her education, she made new friends, she was well looked after - she was happy going there. Fabulous!

This has been the first time my children did their homework without a fuss. They enjoyed the learning as well as the way it was taught.
